ridiculous assertion in 1996 that this property contains Tin Mine
Waste to the present when it has suffered from the attentions of self-style
"experts" over the years, the Fact is that it is still standing
with no sign of the warning of degradation associated with this problem.
To lump every concrete built house in the country with this problem
is both non-scientific and wastefully injurious to Cornwall's Housing
Market. If there was a surfeit of housing, especially affordable ones,
some justification for seeking out deteriorating properties would
be justified, but those which have stood for nearly a century without
visible deterioration and even support the weight of massive concrete
construction and unconnected with mine waste being condemned by this
regime which is motivated by GREED.
The vaunted "Third Test" dreamt up by the Building Research
Establishment of Watford with its unbelievably high temperature and
unheard of humidity are utterly unrelated with everyday house wear
and tear. The cost is enormous and although this property took part
in the original experiment when samples were tested for 600 days the
B.R.E. managed to dismiss them in 7 days in 2005!! Funny business.
The fact that no-one in "authority" in the country wishes
to take any responsibility for what is going on means these "experts"
can do as they like. Needless to say there is no appeal against their
reprehensible operations and arbitrary decisions. Shame on Cornwall
County Council who are turning a blind eye to this Scam.
To explain why the B.R.E. were consulted a second time without permission
a "surveyor" (Bsc.(Hons.) was engaged to sample and submit
them to local "testers" but she found a complete boycott
refusal to deal with them. (shades of the website?) And foolishly
sent them to the B.R.E. for them to take their revenge! Ditto website!
Now that Cornwall has completed its slide into the LibDem camp (remember
Camelford?) It can safely go back to sleep along with its MPs. The
MP for South East Cornwall was initially very helpful in corresponding
with the government but eventually tired of the work involved. An
appeal to the Speaker to find another means of access to Parliament
was meant with "Hard luck" you are disenfranchised Democracy
in Action!
The responses to the website by those caught in this dreadful business
reveal a widespread set of horror stories caused by these perpetrators
whose greed even runs to demanding tests of houses with only a minimal
amount of concrete incapable of causing harm to the property's integrity.
Where profit beckons who cares?
Since this Website was set up in 2004 it has attracted thousands
of visits to the site, remarkable in such a limited subject. (Nevertheless
very stressful for those involved) and interest is growing and hopefully
will one day bring about an investigation by an independent body.
Perhaps the new Duchess of Cornwall will be moved to do something
for the count whose name she bears?
